There’s nothing better than gathering family and friends to enjoy a themed dinner party. From the food to the decor (and, of course, the fabulous drinks), themed dinner parties allow you to curate every detail, ensuring an amazing evening for you and those you care about. If you need some tips for your Italian dinner table, Partenope Ristorante can help. We’ve put together some tips and tricks to host an incredible dinner party in your home, from the Italian menu for the party to ways to highlight the tablescape with specialty decor.

Italian Dinner Decorations

Italian dinner parties are all about laid-back glamour and relaxed ambiance. Don’t feel pressured to go overboard on decorations; focus instead on natural fabrics and elements related to nature. Consider using natural fabric placemats instead of an extravagant tablecloth and Italian-inspired napkins in shades of blue or yellow. Flowers are also a fantastic touch. If you have a large table, put out several vases full of fresh flowers in various sizes and colors.

Italian Dinner Party Menu

At every dinner party, it’s all about the food. If you’ve been to Italy, think about your favorite meals during your time there and consider replicating them. If not, look to delicious Italian meals you’ve had stateside. Pizza is a great option for your Italian menu for a party. Partenope Ristorante has several authentic Italian pizzas on our menu, including our fan-favorite Tridente pizza, which features fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, hot soppressata, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and basil.

Serve a perfectly cooked protein as a main course with veggie sides for your Italian dinner party. Consider Partenope Ristorante’s grilled bone-in pork chop, which features a succulent crust and is paired with crispy Parmesan potatoes and eggplant ragu. Salads are a fresh option; include various dressings or whip up a homemade vinaigrette for an authentic Italian touch prepared in minutes.

Authentic Italian Drinks

Wine is an excellent accompaniment to any Italian-themed dinner party. Pair the wine with your choice of entree. For example, white wine goes well with chicken and fish, while red is perfect for hearty beef or pork. Consider having multiple varieties on hand, including sparkling wine for those who like bubbly. We even have a guide Classic Italian Drinks.

It’s good practice to offer non-alcoholic options like water, sparkling seltzer, or soft drinks for guests who don’t drink. You could create Italian-themed mocktails with fresh lemon slices for added flavor. Mix and match wine glasses for whimsy at the table, and consider using different glasses for dessert, like tiny shot glasses for juice or espresso, to enhance the experience.

This was our second visit. After reading an article about this restaurant being number 12 best out of 50 United States for their Pizza and having gnocchi on their menu, we had to try it. On our first visit last October 2024, we had a spectacular meal and know why they got such a high rating. This visit fell short. The gnocchi on the first visit was with a red sauce. This visit they had changed to a white sauce with large pieces of rapini. Not the traditional preparation that we love, but it was still tasty. Our server seemed to be distracted the whole time he was waiting on us. Rushing off each time he stopped by the table and instead of looking at us, he was often looking around the restaurant. We knew one of the pizzas, Napoli Centrale, that we definitely wanted. But we were asking for recommendations for the next pizza, between Calabrese and Tridente. We pick Tridente. At some point he came back and said he didn't think it was enough food for three adults and three children so we ordered the Calabrese. When the pizzas came, the one we definitely wanted wasn't included. This prompted the manager to come over to see what was going on. We ended up getting an extra pizza on the house because of the confusion. This experience left us disappointed. It's a 45-minute drive to get to this restaurant. While the food is delicious, I'm not sure that will rush back anytime soon.

This evening was exceptional! The food is amazing. Theo, our sever, was great from the first moment, and never missed a beat throughout the meal. GM Kevin could not have been more generous with his time and energy, ensuring we had a great experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone who wants a great experience. Make sure to make reservations, they are always busy.
